CHAMPAGNE TRIP & TASTINGS - Day Trip from Paris
- Duration: 10 Hours (approx.)
A BIT OF HISTORY: Champagne’s sparkling origins began in France’s cool Champagne region, where accidental bubbles became iconic. Dom Pierre Pérignon, a 17th-century Benedictine monk, helped refine techniques to improve Champagne’s taste and quality. Though he did not invent Champagne, his meticulous methods and dedication to purity set the foundation for the sparkling wine we cherish today !
ABOUT YOUR TOUR: Start the day with a drive to the Champagne region and through vineyards. Enjoy a moment in the vineyards, with breathtaking views on the UNESCO world’s heritage vines of Champagne and acquire knowledge of the particularities of our “terroir”. Visit an authentic family-run winery and learn more about the process of making Champagne. Discover the beauty of the owning a small business in this sector and the values behind this activity.
After a first tasting, you will then discover the village of Hautvillers, birthplace of Champagne. Get to enter the church where the famous monk Dom Pérignon is buried.
After a nice lunch break, your will reach the area of Reims to visit one of the most important wineries in the region : Pommery, Veuve-Clicquot ou Taittinger - depending on availability. If our schedule allows, we'll get to the gorgeous cathedral of Reims before we head back to Paris.
