The ossuary was built in the late 18th century when the walls of the city's overflowing cemeteries started to collapse. It remained forgotten for a few decades and eventually opened to the public in 1874. This tour is quite an extraordinary chance to explore the Kingdom of the Dead, where the bones of 6 million people are resting.
